Here’s another iPhone imitation that takes the basic concepts of shortcuts from one main screen, this one is called iLaunch. The only different with this version is the $9.95 price tag, but it may prove to be a little more bug-less. Click here for more information and click here to see the video demonstration.
Screen lock and application launcher utility for Pocket PC (phones)
Lock your screen and put it in your pocket without triggering unwanted actions
Launch commonly used programs with the touch of your finger
Start programs such as Pocket Outlook, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Pocket Excel and Pocket Word and Skype.
Runs on Pocket PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 5 in QVGA portrait mode only.
iLaunch will automatically detect if Skype and Google Maps are on your device, and prompt you to download it, if you don’t have it installed.
There are also buttons for the camera…and ofcourse to make calls.
Sometimes bad news is good news. Apple has finally confirmed rumors that it will delay its next-generation Leopard operating system in order to focus more assets on shipping the iPhone in June. No problem, says The VAR Guy.
The VAR Guy, like many Apple customers, looks forward Leopard. But he’s surviving just fine with his MacBook Pro running the current Mac OS X. He’s had the notebook roughly nine months. No system crashes. No viruses. No spyware. Life is pretty nice. Mac OS X, after all, has a Unix core with a slick Apple user interface. The Apple community won’t implode if it has to wait a bit longer for Leopard.
I use an O2 XDA Orbit (HTC P300).
I downloaded the demo version of iLaunch and installed it to storage card.
Nothing appears in Programs.
When the device reboots, get the message
"The file 'Storage' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of it's components cannot be found. You might need to re-install or restore this file".
Has anyone else encountered it?
How do I resolve this?
Hi Captn.black, it might be that while doing something with ur PPC your minisd card somehow lost contact with the phone and so the programme got currupt. Did you try and reinstall it?
Hi nicedude_abad.
I tried reinstaklling it and got the same result.
I removed the .net framework from the PPC and after several reboots, this message went away.
I then installed the slider.exe, being developed in on the xda-developers forum at: iPhone GUI upgrade free! - xda-developers
This works beautfully and is free, so I won't pursue the iLaunch.
Ilaunch sux...I d'loaded it, installed it. Perfect..then when I close, I can never open it, unless I restart my device. i am trying to get a refund..I will see how it goes. I don't recommend it though.
