If you thought you knew slim smartphones, then you don't know JAQ (sorry i HAD to say it). For those who are new to Windows Mobile there are a few flavors of the operating system: Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone.
The main difference between the two flavors is that the Pocket PC version is more feature filled and allows you to run more applications. The smartphone version is a minimal version for those who don't need to lug around an office but still want access to the PIM information as well as e-mail. Phones like the Cingular 8125 and PPC6700 run the full fledged Pocket PC where as phones like the i-mate SP5m and Motorola Q run the Smartphone version.
The smaller thinner phones had to run smartphone edition because of size and performance limitations--until now. The recently announced i-mate JAQ combines the functionality of the Pocket PC with the size of a smartphone, all in one neat package. Here are the details:
