SanDisk has launched their "highest capacity, fingernail-size memory card" - the SanDisk 2-Gigabyte microSD Mobile Phone Card.
SanDisk's press release indicates that the focus on microSD cards is a response to increasing interest in MP3 phones. However, with the use of a SD adapter, the new microSD card can be compatible with Pocket PCs. This will provide more storage and convenience for organizing data. And as with any/most major launch of this kind, we can probably expect to see price drops for SD/miniSD's.
Already antsy to get your hands on one? The 2GB card is said to debut in the U.S. "exclusively at 1900 Verizon Wireless stores for the next 60 days" for $99.99 and "internationally, it will be sold by a variety of mobile retailers."
