Now this is all slightly shady business, but Kevin Chen, General Manager of HTC Middle East, Africa & CIS, reportedly stated that HTC devices may have Windows Mobile 7 running in early 2009.
The original source site for this information has gone down and replaced with an "account suspended" notice.
The new Windows Mobile 7 is expected to do a lot of things, but Microsoft has yet to confirm any information that has been floating around.
A leaked report stated that the new WM7 will be much more heavily geared toward a large touch screen interface and will feature more "device gestures, such as swiping a finger to scroll or skip, and shaking the device to wake it up."
How devices in the future will implement these new software features maybe a great step toward the "next-generation" of PDA.
Keep in mind that these are all just whispers, but for those of you interested, feel free to follow the cookie trail.
Great that we're going to upgrade again. Unfortunately, I'm still running my Axim X51v. And if you check out the review of the newest barcode mobile computer the Motorola MC75, that market segment won't be upgrading any time soon!
