This looks like a great upgrade to the ever-aging MSN Messenger client currently on our Pocket PCs. MSBLOG has the details:
"With it, you値l be able to talk to other Messenger people whether they池e using a mobile device or a PC, you値l be able to send and recieve nudges, instant messages as well as emoticons. The speeds between the PC and the Live Mobile Client are pretty fast - with about a second or two waiting times. You値l be able to transfer files from and to your mobile device, including recording a voice clip using your device microphone and send pictures with your device camera.
With the Live Mobile Client (not the final name by the way, we値l keep you posted on it), you値l be able to click on a contact with your devices buttons, and check out their contact card and Live Contacts details - so you値l be able to check out whether they致e updated their blog and also pick up their contact details from your handset. You値l be able to subscribe to RSS feeds and view the latest updated feed, as well as being able to access your Space and email via Windows Live Mail (Mobile). It痴 really cool from what Phil showed us, and is expected only to run on Windows Mobile 5 devices, and we should be able to see it arriving in beta within the next few weeks "
If you aren't sure what Windows Live is all about you can get more information at http://www.live.com. If you want to try out Windows Live Messenger Beta for the Desktop PC, you can check it out here.
Hi, I'm in the beta for Windows Live for Mobile as well however my screen looks diffrent from the picture on your post. I am using a pocket pc as well (320x240) but my screen looks similar to the version released on smart phones. Heres a screenshot:
Is there more than one version of this application?
That's great that you are a beta tester for Windows Live for Mobile. Please tell us your experiences. Also the screenshot your see is merely a mockup of the beta. You actually have the right version.

Sorry guys I don't want to do this but after reading the license agreement over again more carefully I found this little thing:
"You will not disclose or provide the Service, documentation, or any related
information (including the Service features or the results of use or
testing) to any third party, for a period of one year following receipt of
the Service or until commercial release of the Service, whichever occurs
first"
I guess I should delete this post but I will give a general summary when the new beta comes out.
WiFi? Are you using a previous version of Wndows Mobile?
*edit* What I mean is: are you trying to talk about connecting to the windows mobile live service? or are you trying to install it. (becuase WiFi is not supported as an active sync connection anymore... sorry if I was not specific)
By the way: The WM Live 10.7 beta program is currently down. Later there will be a refresh posted on their connect site. It is expected to be back up by Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. However you will probably be expected to download the new beta in order to login. I'll post a update as soon as I can. Keeping my fingers crossed for a display picture function.
Has there been any news on this subject? Everything seems to have died in the net around this version of WLM. Any news?!?! The old beta doesn't work and there seems to be no news.
Cheers!
The new beta is out, but because it is a closed beta I'm not allowed to post a screenshot. However I can tell you that the display function is working and voice clips for pocket pc work now. There is a today screen plugin and you now have the ablility to block people. The old client will probably not work, there have been a lot of copies of the client across the web. The one from the connect website should work.
