The gist of Pocket Pay is pretty straightforward: Pocket PC users will be able to make payment via GSM, GPRS, WLAN, and Bluetooth. Of course, before this hits the US of A (its only available in Deutschland -- Germany, right now) vendors will have to have mobile-ready Points of Sale.
But just imagine the possibilities, both good and bad. Hopefully we'll see the perfect maximization of security and convenience. Some speculation: after the Deutschland "test ground" clears, I'd guess we'll see it in wide stateside use before the turn of the decade.
I would assume that the device would have to connect and authenticate through a credit card processing firm before it would transmit and accept any payments. the devices would probably have to have a secure key as well before they'd do anything.
