The Changi Airport in Singapore will shortly open the very first lux-class airport terminal. Despite the area being a "terminal", a premium is paid on tickets to gain access. Sort of, not surprising. Considered to be the pinnacle of travel experiences (in terms of movement), trained staff will take care of everything: from handling your luggage, boarding passes, and quickly going through security, to limo treatments and escorts out to the tarmac to board, it will be interesting to see just how high the premium is, and who pays up.
One other note -- perhaps more surprising is the relative "inexpensiveness" of constructing the facility. The cost for building the luxury terminal topped out at just $10,000,000. Why don't we all buy one!
