Palm pulls AKU2 for Treo 700w once more...

OK Palm, you better tell us whats up or we're going to have to take a trip to Silicon Valley to find out for ourselves. We already reported the release, the retract, the release and now the retraction of the update, and it's getting way out of hand. Either post it or down post it Palm! We were just getting used to saying "Windows Mobile Palm" in one sentence and now you have to do this to us! I say we just keep on hitting the Treo 700w updater page until we get something out of them. It is kind of odd that the page states that if you have already updated your Treo 700w, then to disregard the message. Does that mean the update is all good? Because if it wasn't wouldn't you think they would give us a downgrader or something? Oh well... its all up in the air now...

Hi, all, May8th and I just ran the updater off the Palm site. According to the Palm tech I HAD to call, the 8th "DO" (use "Schedule" option to turn off auto-synch during the process) is only available if you are running MS Exchange Server - it's dimmed if you're just synching with a PC. This issue required an hour-plus to research...

Also, the installer "hangs" on the PC but goes through on the T700w OK. I was left with only the first of three bars finished and no way to move on to whatever would have happened next. I'm updated on the phone, tho, so apparently it's just an issue with the installer on the PC side.

Sheesh... nice smartphone but the backup support seems somewhat less than I've come to expect from Palm.
