All you i-mate JAMin users out there are in luck, the latest English ROM update includes AKU2 for Direct Push Email. If you don't have the update already you can download the file directly below.
It's great to see Windows Mobile 5.0 devices getting updated with push e-mail. I know that there are some JAMin users out there, tell us if there is anything else new about this rom update!
hey everyone i'd just joined to this forum with my new i-mate
my problem is unfortunately i don't know how to update my rom can you show me the way for it?
Updating the ROM is quite easy, however if you mess up you could ruin your device forever. That is why I would recommend following the upgrade directions included in the update package. Here are some guidelines for a safe upgrade.
Make sure you back up everything on your PDA before you upgrade. The ROM update will clear out the memory including the setting to its original factory state.
Make sure your PDA is fully charged and connected to AC when you upgrade. Some update programs wont even let you pass the first screen if it detects that your device is not connected to the wall. A fully charged battery ensures that if there is a power failure or when the device resets during the process, it still has enough juice to save itself.
On that note, make sure that your laptop or PC has backup power. If you live in an area prone to power outages, this might be a good thing to have even if you are not updating.
I hope this helps you somewhat. If you are still having trouble, please let us know so that we can assist you further!
I did just as instructed and it failed, as is my luck, and now I have an 800 dollar device that is toast is what you're saying? what are my options...? Thanks for your help.
