Convert .WMA to MP3

I'm thinking of converting my .wma files over to MP3 format, but I have about 4.5 GB of music in .wma format (I should have done this in the first place ). I don't want to have to re-rip my CDs , does anyone know of a converter that will convert .wma files to MP3?

Roxio Video CD

Roxio Video CD only takes MP3 files for background music and it looks like it has a better interface for sequencing the photos. I thought I would try it out and see how it works.

ahhh... CDex over at SourceForge.net will do it I believe
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos/
it's freeware too! If it doesn't convert wmas, it's still a good utility to have anyway.

CDex doesn't convert wma to mp3

From the Cdex forums:
Quote:
Firstly MS don't like you converting their audio and video to other formats (which is why 9 isn't very well supported)
Secondly, transcoding from WMA to MP3 is very very bad, you get loads of artifacts and a severe drop in quality. You'd be better off ripping from the CDs again.
After having some problems with a missing .dll... "WMAudSdk.dll", I went to their forums and it turns out that everyone was asking the same question that I was...."Can I convert WMA files to MP3.... As of right now you cannot and it is not recommended.... :?

Who says you can't?
8) Why its not recommended?
Well re-encoding will lose you some quality but if you want to, you CAN! And better yet with a very nice, feature full and FREE tool.

That is it.. Look no further . Convert from ANY format to ANY format. Batch conversion - no problem. Additional plugins - you have got them.
Enjoy yourself!

As for being early, well its already mid day in main land europe. Am from Switzerland.
