Lightbulb IPAQ 3975 Ebook reader

Hello from a newby-I bought a used IPAQ 3975 solely for using it as an ereader(don't want to pay $300+ for a kindle2 -got this for $99)-from Ebay I purchased 15000 public domain ebooks for less than $10-in prc format-had difficult time installing mobipocket-several of the cabs I downloaded didn't work-got a few different ones to work but when it was on the writing removal instructions it froze and I had to cancel-the mobipocket worked spottily-I had the ebooks on a 2 gb sd card-it would freeze up and pr not bring the book up or just not show up-I did take several of the books off the SD card-got the files down to less than 1/2 GB but that didn't seem to help. Then I thought I would try palm reader and I couldn't even get that or pdf reader to load-I am wondering if I need to upgrade to pocket pc 2003-I have been told I have 2002 version. I am very frustrated and ready to send back and maybe get a palm zire 71 or something. Anyway-any help would be gratly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Well my newness is showing-I synched and was able to get an isilo reader to install and it works wonderfully-only catch is it is a pay item- have a 30 day trial-tried to synch mobipocket and it just installed 6.2 on the PC but didn't even ask to install on the pocket-anybody know if maybe I should try a different version?-I uninstalled and reinstalled like 5 times

From a considerably happier camper
