Best Pocket PC for GPS in South America

I am a new member of this forum. I am moving to Ecuador in December, I wish to acquire a pocket pc before I move. As far as I know, there are no commercial or shareware GPS map files available for Ecuador. I will have high speed internet on my desktop. I would like to be able to download maps or scan them and build my own points of interest for Ecuadoran cities other than Quito or Guayaquil.

Please recommend pocket pc and software.

Thasnk you

Hi Poppi,
I am a new member as well. As for software I can recommend Oziexplorer. This is an Australian developed product that is used around the world. It is "proper navigation" not turn by turn street nav. I use it for extensive desert navigation through the Australian outback. You can use most maps as well as scan your own.
You first purchase the full version of Oziexplorer, this runs on a desk or laptop , then you can purchase the add-on Ozi CE to run on your PDA.
Check out oziexplorer .com
Regards,
Cjjeeper
