A little about me: I've had PPC since they were windows CE. My first was the HP Jornada 820. I moved up to the handheld style jornada and now have had six PDA's by HP.
My newest is the TILT 8925 (2 days old) and I think it's a worthy piece of equipment however time is always the test. I would like to get the gps to work without the Telenav service. I'm researching and finding it's possible to get it all up and working with Google maps? Is that true? How? Any info would be helpful. Are there any other free programs that work for navigation? Anybody else have the Tilt? Got any suggestions?
I found that Freeware ppc . com is a great resource. But no tech tips.
I'm in the north country so the phone technology takes a while to get here but I appreciate all the trial and error that goes along with the selection process before we get all the junk.
you can download google maps from alot of places however to use it on your phone requires a data connection because the maps are stored online. I do not know of any other free gps software though i myself would also be interested in it.
Does anyone else know where we can find some free gps software?
u noe, i bought the tom tom nav for my palm, & it wouldnt accept it...i had it for over a yr till i got my tilt 8925. i installed it & it worked...i also got a new laptop (vista) so BOTH worked juss fine. its not free but its better than payin for $9 sumthin a month. the GPS works off off its external, which is SWEET!!! for the most part its fast, and i set it up 2 automatically update my GPS settings...hope this helped...
