Greetings and help with voicemail notify

Greetings to all from Colorado. I'm new to this forum and to the whole pocket PC world. I had an old cell phone that would only make and receive calls (imagine that) and the company decided it was time to update technology. I now have an AT&T 8525 with WM5 and am slowly learning what I've been missing. The main problem I'm having right now is that there is no ability to set the received voicemail notification to repeat (option grayed out). So it only plays once and if I miss it the only way to know I have a message is to look at the screen, if I remember. I've been searching the web and found this community to be by far the most informative. I've seen other places that refer to registry hacks to correct this but they don't provide details or report much success. Can someone please explain the process in a way that a novice like myself can understand? Thanks in advance.

hey bmartin i have the 8125 so im only assuming its more or less the same interface but when you go to Start/Settings/Sounds & Notifications/Notifications that repeat option is only intended for reminders (like calendar events) not voicemail and mms alerts. i wish i could be used for voicemails. could've saved me alotta trouble
