Smile Hi and Help? Mogul 6800 and MS Voice Command

I am very much a newbie who has the new Mogul 6800! I am a minister who bought it because I finally tired of carrying my old Ipaq 3635 and a cell phone at the same time. I love it and I'm learning something new about it every minute. I found this forum while searching for help with a wired headset that brings up Voice Dial instead of the MS Voice Command 1.6 which I have installed.

I really prefer Voice Command and it works great. But when I press the appropriate button on several wired headsets -- it defaults to voice dial instead of MS Voice Command.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to get MS Voice Command to come up when I press the button on my wired headsets?

Does it break the rules to include my email address should you want to write me directly?

I am not sure if it would break the rules, but generally it is nice to have responses in the forum so that others can see the answer. Now I wish I had an answer. On my device this is controlled in Settings/Buttons. Have you checked that?

I did a bit of searching over at the xda-developers forum(xda-developers - Powered by vBulletin) and it looks like VC might not work with a wired head set. Is Bluetooth an option for you? I did find one thread where somebody wrote a little application to make a wired headset work, but it was device specific and may or may not work on your device New application: Talk Button Detector 0.3 - xda-developers Not that only registered users can see attachments.

To be honest, I haven't found a Bluetooth headset that anyone has told me is as clear and distinct as my wired headsets. Since I don't plan to walk away from my phone -- I was contemplating staying with my wired headset. Nevertheless, most are telling me that the very affordable Plantronics 330 sounds clearer than more expensive Bluetooth headsets that I've tried.
