Hey i'm sure you've all already talked about this but, why is it that evey game i put on my PPC gives me a "not a Pocket PC app" message? Even the ones i dled off here wont do the trick
They are probably desktop installers. Connect your device to a desktop host and run the files on the PC. They will install over the ActiveSync connection.
Hey thanks that got me to closer and a few games worked, but most of them just tell me the installation was unsucessful on the PPC screen, any ideas about that? Is the maybe a protective setting to keep certain software off?
if you downloaded them to your PPC, delete them after you have moved them to your desktop. Do a soft reset of your device.
Then run the program on your desktop. Then sync. Pay attention to your screen during the sync. Typically, the program on your desktop will prompt you to look at your PPC to see if there is any additional steps you need to take to install the program (such as a question, Do you want to install this program, or, The program is not from a trusted source, do you want to proceed?) Tap "yes" and let the device complete the install.
Is there a particular program you are trying to install, or is it everything? If it is for a particular program, check the web site where you downloaded it to make sure it is compatible with your device. (I have an 8525, which is similar to your 8125, but not all WM5 programs have worked on it.)
Something else to check is to verify that the game version you have tried to install is compatible with your device. Many have versions specific to OS version as well as CPU type. You may need to download a different version.
