Hi all, HP iPAQ - rw 6828 hearing problem

Hi all,
Happy New Year.

Could anyone suggest what to do with my HP iPAQ which rings but when I answer - people at the other end can't hear and so do I. Is there any special setting to do? I've put the volume to the maximum - still same!!

tq.

hi mani! you are probably encountering a hardware problem that many ipaq rw6828 users (as well as those who own an O2 xda atom) have experienced.

this might be due to having used the headphones, and the wires in the earphone socket have been misaligned and have created a short in the earpiece, causing your devide to think that the phones are still inserted when in fact it is not.

as the case may be, the ringing of your phone will still work (because this will work whether or not your headset is inserted) but you won't be able to hear anything from the receiver.

here's a solution you might try:
take your headset jack, insert it more or less halfway through the socket, and move it gently from left to right. this will help with the proper alignment of the wires in the socket and stop the shortcircuit.

i hope this helps you. let me know if it works. good luck.
