Is your other installed applications also missing? did your device had hard reset? if that what happened you will loose all the data including you're contacts.I think contacts data are instored in /windows directory. why not try to sync you're pocket pc with you pc to get your contact again. Better yet if you have a backup software, why not use it to restore it. Murduck (mobile)

cheers for the reply murduck. I have not reset the ppc in any way. All the program on the built in memory are still there and working. For some reason i have never been able to sync my M600 with my computer ive had to copy the .cab installers my self to my storage card and install them from there. its a pain but otherwise i wld have no decent software on my phone!! could you recommend any back up software for wm5? Any help would not go to waist.

many thanks

Glad to read that you found a solution to it. I too make it a habit of copying .CAB files that i installed in my pocket pc to my SD card of emergency purposes.
Now for backup, you can use the built-in backup application that's pre-nstalled in your device which is a pretty basic backup application. If you want a more powerfull and have the ability to schedule the process.
I recommed SPB Backup Plus it's simple and a great backup software, you can try it out here.
Another vendor is Sprite Backup, i haven't tried this one but i had read some good reviews about it.

Good luck...

Try to google search Active sync 4.2, also I saw someone also posted the link in the front page for the new 4.5 beta.

Once you install active sync 4.2 it will detect and install the right driver for your pocket pc. Why not try it first...
