8125 Video playback question

Can anyone please advise me on how to improve the video playback on my 8125? Currently it's very slow, choppy & jerky when viewed from the miniSD card. My Dell X30 played fined without problems. Does it depend the type of miniSD card used, or the speed of the OS? Is there a way tweak it?

thx

It might be the file your trying to play, whats the size of your miniSD? is the internal memory on your phone used up? You might want to try clearing up some of the internal memory.

I think it would depend on the file type. is it mpeg4? you might want to try to convert the file, also make sure that it is QVGA size.

Thanks for replying. It doesn't really matter what file type I used, whether it's divx, mpeg4, etc, the video playbacks are still choppy & jerky. THESE FILES WORKED FINE ON MY DELL X30, using the SD card.
I have a 1GB miniSD card. For internal memory, I still have around ~20mb for each of the Storage & Program space. I also cleared all the running programs before viewing the video, but didn't help. Would tweaking the registry help?

Hi, im sorry to hear about your video play back problem. ive been hearing a lot of this kind of issue, and many say it might be a codec problem. you can also try this

The Core Pocket Media Player - About TCPMP

as for tweaking the registry, this might help but tweaking the registry is risky, do it at your own risk~

Tweaks2k2.com - The Home of Tweaks2k2

i found some tweaks that may help?

Speed boost – don’t ask my why this works, I’m not smart enough to know, but it does.
Use Total Commander to navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\
Assign a value of 4096 to CacheSize
Assign a value of 1 to EnableCache
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\f sreplxfilt\
Assign a value of 4096 to ReplStoreCacheSize
Perform a soft reset

Increase screen performance – this tweak increases your screen cache which allows yours screen and fonts to change faster. Beware that this also removes some resources from your general memory as well. this might help with video play back, you can try.

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE"
Change "limit" from "8192" (default) to "16384"
Perform a soft reset

Hi, you know what you could try to do? instead of syncing wit WMP10, try to just copy and paste the clip to the card. See if that helps

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict andytherunner! Sorry to say, but as of yet there is no way of watching youtube videos on your phone. But once there's a solution we will post it as front page content, so keep checking back! Also please check out our downloads page where you can find great stuff to enhance your device.
