Volantis Storefront 2.0 currently shipping to new and existing customers
Seattle, WASHINGTON, August 23, 2006 - Volantis, the world’s leading supplier of Intelligent Content Adaptation™ solutions for the Mobile Information Age, today announced the next-generation of its Mobile Content Storefront™ for customers. Storefront 2.0 is a turn-key solution that enables wireless carriers and content providers to merchandize a wide range of mobile content, optimized for more than 3,000 2G, 2.5G and 3G mobile devices covering GSM, GPRS, UMTS/WCDMA and CDMA2000 wireless standards.
The enhanced application follows the successful initial launch of Storefront in January 2006. To date, customers, including wireless carriers and content providers, have purchased Storefront in order to quickly launch, promote and sell a wide range of content, featuring wallpapers, ringtones, audio and video files, games, MMS, and interactive content such as quizzes, polls, and competitions.
“In the past few months we have sensed growing interest in monetizing content for mobile platforms,” said Matthew Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Volantis. “We’re receiving strong demand for Storefront worldwide.”
Storefront has helped many of the world’s leading brands -- including FT, Reuters, Channel 4 and the Discovery Channel -- provide the best end-user experience possible both on- and off-portal, delivering WAP and i-mode services.
With flexible purchasing options to minimize time to market and maximize return on investment, Storefront is available as either a Volantis managed service or as a licensed solution, with seamless migration between these two deployment models.
This latest generation of the Storefront application encompasses a number of significant new features. Storefront 2.0 includes:
• an improved user interface (web-based console) that is intuitive, flexible and configurable, that can be accessed globally, supporting distributed work teams and removing any need for device-specific knowledge, skills or tools;
• an improved preview functionality that reduces testing and QA time and provides instant feedback to content editors; and
• a single content storage environment - reducing the costs and complexity of content management by enabling management of multiple-branded storefronts from a single content store.
Additional updates to Storefront are planned for later in 2006 and early 2007.
