I am new

Hello!

I have just bought a PDA with phone; MIO A 701.
I bought it mainly because it combines phone and GPS. And it comes
in a handy size.
I am new to Windows Mobile 5
So far I have not been able to get my internet connection.
Mainly because there is no drop down choice with my provider.
My ISP should be the Swedish GSM provider TELE2 or COMVIQ.
I could not find them.
Does anyone know how I should go about that and reach Microsoft and
get my provider as a choice?
Or is there any other way to get on the internet through GPRS?

Tele2Comviq GPRS Settings

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict Kjell! I'm glad that you got a Mio A701 as it is a great GPS device. To get a GPRS connection with Tele2Comviq you will have to manually set up your Mio for GPRS. This is relatively easy, just not as easy as selecting from a list of providers.

I have found the manual instructions to use Tele2Comviq GPRS on a Windows Mobile 2003 SE device (HP iPAQ h6340). It should be fairly similar to the Windows Mobile 5 setup. Unfortunately it is in Swedish so I cannot vouch for how good the directions are. Maybe I'll get to translating it later but the images should do justice. Please let me know if this works for you!
  • Gå in på "Start".

  • Klicka på knappen "Create a connection".

  • Bocka i "GPRS Connection".
    Klicka på "Next".
  • Fyll i följande:
    APN:internet.tele2.se User name: Password:

    Klicka på "Next".
  • Klicka på "Next".
  • Klicka på "Next".
  • Fyll i följande meddelandecentralnummer: +46707990001
    Klicka på "Next".

  • Fyll i följande: MMS Center Address:http://mmsc.tele2.se APN:mms.swipnet.se User name:wap Password:wap
    Klicka på "Next".

  • Fyll i följande:
    IP Address:130.244.196.090 Password:8080
    Klicka på "Next".

  • Klicka på "ok" för att avsluta installationen.
Klart!
