I don't know what it is about me that I find a book like O'Reilly's new Home Hacking Projects for Geeks irresistible. I guess it's my long-term desire to take apart almost every electrical component in my house and see if I can make it better. If you find yourself in that same bucket, this book may make a great addition to your library. It includes several projects such as remotely monitoring your pet, making your house talk, create time-shifted FM radio and more.
They have two sample excerpts the you can download right now to see if it's right for you: Control Your Home Theater Remotely Monitor a Pet
The book runs $29.95 - modding supplies not included
