What is a Pre-Load you ask? Heck I dunno. But it sure sounds like Half-Life 2 is getting closer which is very good news for FPS fans including yours truly "Half-Life 2 pre-loading begins to Steam account holders today. Over the coming days, those who have selected the pre-loading option will have encrypted Half-Life 2 files delivered to their PC. No purchase is required to pre-load HL2, but is required to activate the game. Purchase options will be released soon. Then, the moment the game is made available, those who have pre-loaded and purchased Half-Life 2 via Steam will be authenticated and ready to start playing. For more information, please visit www.steampowered.com. "
Are you a Steam subscriber? If so give us the skinny on it.
Got yours yet, Brad? I'm still slogging through Doom 3.

Doom 3 prffff! Seeing my granny without her teeth in is more scary.
Have you played 'The Suffering' (very psychotic) or 'Pain Killer'? both of which also use the 'see where the torch is shining' horror treatment.
It's nice to play some good old blood, guts and mass destruction, but my true favorite it Theif of which I am happily skulking around in with 'Theif - Deadly Shadows'.
Most of the fan missions for Theif II- The metal age and Theif I - The Dark age are truly exceptional and elevate the games to another level, especially when you consider that most of them (if not all) were developed by fans not game manufacturers.
Check out Thief the circle to see what I mean!
Half-life 2 is going to have so much to live up to, the first game was so modded up later and the sequel has taken sooooooooooooo long to be released. It's only the on-line multiplayer element that's really kept the franchise alive for so long.
Personally I'm looking forward to Duke Nuke 'em Forever, if it ever gets beyond vapourware (It's now in it's sixth year of development) 3drealms.com.
Checkout wired news.com humerous, but true article on Duke Nuke 'em Forever.
