I'll bet it's in response to the campaign that's been in the news this week about their "monopoly". There's a website that went live recently that's bringing it to the public. Sorry, I don't have a link right now.

No problem. I think if the developers don't like the commissions they are charged then they can either charge more and pass it onto the consumer or sell somewhere else. Last time I checked it was a free market. It all comes down to profit- either the major retailers generate enough additional sales to make the commissions worthwhile or they don't. I'm not sure what the developers hope to accomplish with this unless it's to cut costs by joining to sell their products together. That would certainly make sense but to try to make the public think the major online retailers are evil is sour grapes.
I'm a big supporter of the "little guy" but the public will determine what can be charged for a given product. The fact that these sellers sell so many programs indicates to me that they haven't exceeded that price yet. So to take this public stance sends a message to me that they can't live without the major resellers and that's why they charge what they do.

back on my soap box - Handango is a huge scam.... they should not print reviews by consumers unless they will print all of them!!!! They offer review preview to "choice" developers willing to give up a little more commission. No problem making money I am all for it, but do not pretend to be open to comment when you are not.
