Say can anyone recommend a half decent spyware remover?
I've been using Spybot but it's suddenly packed up and started refusing to operate.
My machine seems a tad prone to spyware so I like to check it on a regular basis.
I'm prepared to consider freeware or slash out some dosh, for the right app.

I use Lavasoft's Ad Aware. It's very similar to Spybot and it works pretty well. It scans really slowly but seems to do a good job. I don't have a link for them handy.

I was reading your blog the other day (especially 'from the heart' such an apt title) reading those articles ALWAYS gets a reaction from me .
I gotta say the blogging looks good and I recommend everyone to have a look.
By the way I guess you got a skinny @rse , as you seem to be running it of here there and everywhere, What with running your business, posting to PPCA, writing for PPctools AND your blog (did I also see a couple of Pocketpc Magazine articles as well!)

I can't believe I missed this thread...
I use Spybot also....but I have been using Proximitron which is a free software proxy on my browser. It's EXCELLENT!!! In fact, since I started using it (about a year ago) every time I've run Spybot, it has come up with ZERO scumware or malicious programs. I RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM HIGHLY!!!

I know some people here will probably say "Brad, give it a rest already!!" But Opera browser seems immune to spyware, so I don't really have a problem with it anymore!
Yeah! I downloaded and installed the latest demo of Opera but it seemed to run alot slower than IE.
Dunno if it was because I didn't make it the default browser thought or because I'm still running off of ISDN?
Anyway I'm still relying on IE at present.
Proximitron looks interesting, just a bit complex, I'll have to make some time to have a good look at it.
