problem with my tilt

i got this free carjack to usb connector and i tried charging my tilt in my car with the cord that plugs into the computer.

well as soon as i plugged my phone in it turned off and i couldnt turn it back on.

after a few different combinations of removing the battery and reinstalling it and plugging it into my computer it now works...

does anyone have any idea what went wrong and if my phone is alright? ive also done a couple soft resets.

that phone is 2good to mess aroun with cheap stuff like that. dont do it man, i have one and i love it.
