I work at an AT&T corporate store. I had a customer that came in to exchange a Tilt. Upon trying to move the contacts, about half were lost in the transfer. I was wondering if there was anyway to go through the registry or anything to find the lost contacts. Any info would be of great assistance. Thanks in advance!!!
Ok, so i've found the pim.vol file and the likes. My next question would be, since there were contacts that were lost, would that file contain a footprint, so to speak, of all contacts that were in the phone at one point or another. In other words if a contact that was stored in there 6 months ago got deleted, would it still exist in the pim.vol file?
Pim.vol actually contains a few little databases of which contacts is one. I would be surprised if deleted contacts are there as this is what the PPC is reading when you look at contacts, appointments, etc.
