Connecting USB stick to HTC TyTnII

Hi, I have a USB cable that will allow me to connect my HTC TyTnII to an 8GB USB stick but does not work.

I spoke to the cable manufacturer who said I need a USB host controller or a WM6 driver to all the HTC to control or communicate with the stick.

So now I am trying to find out how I can get this to work.

Does anyone know of an external mini USB host controller that can act as go between from the HTC to stick?
