A few weeks ago I lost the external speaker on my 8525. After I received two separate referbs (both had problems after WM6 flash) that ATT folks sent me a complete boxed Tilt. OH MY. This thing ROCKS! HTC did their homework on the 8125 and 8525. One word... Sexy. PS Keep your iPhone
I just did the same thing. It is a very good looking phone. I still need to get used to the new layout. And figure out the software from my 8525 that will work with the new tilt.
Same here just did an upgrade through Cingular kinda getting tired of my 8525 and the tilt looks smooth Can't wait especially after going through both of the HTC PDA 81 85 should get my 89 in a few days!! any Advice on prog's Def looking forward to the gps!
shogun...no doubt im definitely jealous. i got my 8525 replaced and if i couldve gotten a 8925 instead without payin any extra im more than jealous. video drivers are going to come eventually, but really videos is like 5% of my use for ppc's...
the 8925 has a 3 mp camera i believe which is a lot better in the dark, and also is capable of GPS...HUGE! wish i could get it but im not forking out 500 bucks for another pocket pc.
Well, I just had a smimilar experience with AT&T. The touchscreen on my 8525 was going bad and there were all sorts of other issues so I made a claim on my insurance ($50). They are sending me a 8925, they said because they don't have 8525s to use as replacements anymore. Of course, she went on to tell me they were cancelling my insurance because they don't cover these pocket pc phones.
I guess I got really lucky. The 8925 will be a refurb, but comes with a 12 month warranty according to the insurance rep.
DanS.. Insurance on your 8525? I thought you couldn't do insurance on those phones? Can I get insurance on my 8125 then trade in for an 89? That would be great!
Also, are you saying GPS (TomTom) wont work with the 8125? Well poo..

Dont know if its jus me but have you guys seen the 8525's and the 8925's on HTC.COM they all have a front camera for video calling and they say its only supposed to be used with 3g but at&t has 3g but they still dont support the video calling whats up with that
Real deal. I was having so many problems with the 8525 that ATT said here you go. Oh yea... Spb mobile shell... too cool. As for the camera in the front, not in the us. We must not be smart enough to use video conferencing in the United States.
I heard awhile ago that the US's networks are just not capable or ready for that...I guess they actually want good quality or something before they just throw it on, or they just havent figured out how high the monthly price for it will be (when only like 1 person you know will even have it too)
oh...and my warranty went in february, but i got a new phone before it past...so do i have a 1 year warranty on my replacement phone now?
cuz um yea...my phone doesnt work, well everything works except people cant hear me during a phone call, and also the d-pad is messed up, like i push down and it goes right.
i figure ill just do a hard reset soon and see if that works, if not im screwed if i dont have a warranty...2nd problem ive had with 8525 so i pray to god its still under warranty and they just send me an 8925 with all the accessories (cuz they were all stolen from me...damn AC cab drivers)
amen alleluia! so i got my replacement in january of 2008, and apparently you get a 1 year warranty from that time, so i was still good, and since ive had problems with this phone they are sending me THE TILT!!!!
woohoo! GPS I CAN NOT WAIT. the only thing is im going to do a hard reset to go back to the ATT original rom, but im hoping that doesnt fix the problems the phone has (d-pad messed up and no one can hear me during calls)...id really hate to pay the 300 bucks if its all fixed, but hopefully that doesnt happen.
nate, by this time next week ill probly have some questions for you about the 8925.

since you got everything in the box with the tilt did you have to return everything or just the phone? all the accessories that came with the 8525 have been stolen from me, but hopefully you just need to return the phone.
