Cool Ringtones

I have a 8525 with Windows Mobil 5 and I'm trying to assign ring tones to contacts. I can load the mp3's to my 2 gig memory card but I can't get to them though the usual way. I have to move the song to the phone memory but... that memory is full. How an I use the memory on the memory card for my ring tones?

hey its actually pretty easy, all you do is take the mp3 file and put it in the root folder(i think thats wa its called) of the storage card and thats it. you cant put the mp3 in a folder or it wont pick it up. all u do is tap and hold d mp3 file hit either cut or copy_the go to the file explorer_tap the storage card_then in an empty space on d screen tap and hold then select paste. thats it you should see the file now when yo try to set the ringtone for a contact. hope this helps

I do that but the mp3 moves to the phone and takes up memory. So the memory is full on the phone and the sd card is pretty empty

Huh thats weird . Are you sure that your putting the mp3 ringtone file in the storage card? Do you have anything else on the storage card? Try
1. Tap on the Start Menu
2.Tap File Explorer (Make sure its on the very 1st screen, push UP on the bottom left corner till it does do anything and thats the 1st screen.)
3.Tap My Documents
4.Tap My Ringtones
5.Tap and hold the mp3 file until the menu pops up
6.Select Cut or Copy
7.Then Tap Up until you back to the 1st screen.
8.You should see your Storage Card File here....Tap on Storage Card
9.Now If its empty like you say, tap and hold on a blank part of the screen so that the menu pops up.
10.Select Paste.
11.Now just leave the file there, dont try to create a folder in the storage card and move the file into the folder. Just leave it there.
12.Now tap the X in the right hand corner so that you see your today screen.
13.On the top menu bar you should see your signal strength, tap on that.
14.A menu will pop up with the title Phone, Tap the Settings link.
15.It will bring up your phones ringtone settings. You should now be able to find the mp3 file that you placed in the storage card in the Ringtone Drop down menu. Just look for the name of the file.

If you see it in this menu then you did it correctly, and you will be able to use the ringtone for one of your contacts.

If you dont see it in the menu then you did something wrong or your just out of luck

Hopefully this helps. If it works and you have trouble setting the ringtone for one of your contacts let me know PEACE
