Phone randomly screwing up

Out of the blue today, around the middle of the day my phone started acting up. I went to send a text message and halfway through the message my phone more or less froze. I thought nothing of it, reset the phone, and when I went to write the message again, it froze again. Since then its been freezing everytime I try to write a message, letting only about 1 out of every 15 or so actually finish and send. Not only that, its not letting me answer phone calls, and making them is a hassle now as well as the phone slows down like no other while trying to do everyday actions. I have HTC Home Plugin and Battery Status Plugin installed, but have turned them both off thinking that may have been the problem somehow, but it didn't help. Nor did removing the memory card. I haven't installed anything on this phone in months, and the last thing I did was check my Facebook on Opera Mini, which I do at least twice daily. I have no idea what is going on with my phone and recently gave my sister my backup phone so right now this is really screwing me. If anyone knows of anyway to fix this short of a hard reset let me know, as I doubt it'd be possible to transfer my contact to my SIM at the pace this phone is going at. Thanks.

it's really weird. I was going to say that you may have installed something wrong. I guess not.

I'm not really sure what to do :\ sorry man, I'd only have suggesting hard-reset.

Hard reset seems to have worked so far, I'm still curious as to what caused it though.

you're not the only one,
this started happening to me yesterday. when writing a text half way through (not even 100 characters) it will suddenly hang and not accepting any commands to buttons. folding away the keypad will switch the blinking line the other way but that's the only response.

attempting to send a text not using the keypad but screen keyboard yields the same result

i had the same problem just last night, i pulled both the battery and sim card out for about 6 hours and it seems to be working now.

Ill repost if it messes up again and I have to hard reset

PS I noticed when i turned off the phone it appeared as if an image had been burned into the lcd screen, but when i went to put the battery back in it was gone. its possibly another symptom, could just be that the phone needs to b turned off and left off every once and a while.

idk, just a thought

Not a symptom, it's common if you pull your battery out or don't turn off properly

So the current solutions seem to be:
1. Preform hard reset
2. Remove battery/Sim for 6 hours
