New to PDA

I recently purchased a 8125, been reading up on couple of things. First I've found out that my 8125 is a G3 running WM5, currently I have Vista on my operating system, as to what I heard the old activesync is not compatible with Vista(I maybe wrong). I plan to upgrade my themes and add applications, however I've heard that most new apps require WM6. I've downloaded ActiveSync the latest one but I don't know if it'll work with my outdated 8125 coz its WM5. I'm confused to what I should do to upgrade it to WM6 and add some cool apps to my PDA. Please advice. Thanks
