white screen of death

my cingular 8125 died on me i think. first when i hit the power button instead of coming back from sleep mode or whatever it did nothing so i thought the power button died, so i take the battery out, not knowing i should have reset it. put it back in and it wont turn on now. about five minutes later i guess i got a call or sumthing and the screen goes white and starts vibrating nonstop. now it wont turn on or anything what should i do?

When you took the battery out it was the equivalent of doing a soft reset. If your 8125 will not turn on how did it get a call? You might want to try another reset (small hole on right side of unit). If that doesn't do the trick you could always try a hard reset, but that will erase any data that you have on the device.

Call cingular and complain...see if they will send you a new one....this is a common problem.. it took me three to get one to work right.... I think the problem lies in the hard plastic case ( are you using one and does it occasionally get trapped, this preying the two parts further apart?)..... anyway, don't use the hard plastic case and two, get them to set you a new one.....otherwise it will keep getting worse and there is no fix that I ever heard of.....

I was able to press on the screen in certain spots and get it to work.... but only temporarily..... Did you use the hard plastic belt-clip case at all...?? That's what I think caused my to fail..

This does not sound exactly like your problem, but since you are out of warranty it might be worth a shot.

Try plugging it into a computer and hooking up with a program like SOTI's pocket controller and you should get video that way.... output is good, but the screen output is bad.....(worked when mine went white)...

ok assuming you have done a hard reset and your stuck at the point where you have to align the screen your best bet is to try reinstalling the original rom. You can download it from cingular.com or htcamerica.com

Also the camera is 1.3 mp not 2.0 mp

You might need to replace the screen did you ask your friend if it had ever done this b4? how long have u had the device?

What was the outcome? Did anything solve the issue, what rom are you using?
