I have my HTC touch for over a month now and can't seem to send email, I can only receive. I can send using my gmail account but not my cox.net account. I have tried everything I know how and nada. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Also the light keeps coming on by itself every few minutes and it's draining my batteries really fast. Thanks in advance for viewing and responding.
The screen thing.. it does that on mine too. I installed S2U2 (the slide to unlock thing similar to the iPhones') and it works great. The screen will turn itself off.
Usually when the phone turns the screen on, it usually means that it has some data it's trying to retreat. A lot of times for me, it tells me that an e-mail is coming my way.
Not being able to send though, that one is kind of weird. Does the phone even retrieve e-mails from your Cox account?
The sending problem is easy too. Its because you cant use cox's outgoing servers to send mail when you're not on their network. In the smtp/outgoing server for you cox account use gmails smtp server and make sure to authinticate and enter your google account settings or check cox's faq and see if they have recomened email settings when not on their network/
Thanks for your help guys. I called Sprint Technical support and he helped me set up my account... the problem was when trying to use the Sprint outgoing smtp settings. My account was never setup! Apparantly there is a once time set up you have to do and I didn't know it.
We did it and rebooted my Touch and it's all good now! Lovin it.
I also upgraded to Mobile 6.1 using this site and almost everything is working great inclucing being able to view youtube over my Media Player just by clicking on the link!
