So I was surfing around the net looking for some keyboard programs or alternative for the Touch. I've got something if you're interested.
ugliness and inaccuracy
So the original keyboard from Windows Mobile isn't exactly the best looking keyboard in the whole world, so HTC developed their 20-key keyboard. Although that it is nicer and you can type with more accuracy, but you still cannot type fast as if you had a QWERTY keyboard.
accuracy with no speed
No, I am not saying that this keyboard will be replacing the lack-of-QWERTY on the Touch, but it definitely can increase your productivity with the on-screen keyboard by increasing accuracy and speed for you! Here's the screen shot.
voilla!
Download and a video of the keyboard is here and I found it through here.
I honestly don't know how well will it work for all of you, because obviously, it depends on preference. I'm trying to get use to it. It's smaller than the 20-key, but it's definitely something I can get a hang to and if you leave your finger on the key long enough (a sec?) it'll zoom in the key and you can slide it around. So give it a shot! If you want to.
I have a touch of course use at your own risk.. if you phone bricks blah blah blah..... this will uninstall and reinstall without hard reset.. it worked for me...
changes the touch keypad to the big 40 key keyboard but disables the T9 and prediction
I just got a touch, and I've tried that keyboard. My biggest is that the is no "." on the main keyboard. HAving to switch to numeric twice to type a web address is a royal pain...
it is true.
quite honestly, it gets faster with more time you use it. because everytime that you typed and it has the red box text comes up, you can add those words in there and when you mistype things later, it'll change to that word for you.
However, the green box sometimes are very annoying..
