new to smart phone world!!! please help

Like it says. I am new to smartphones. There are a few things I would like to know how to do and have not been able to find any help. I would like to make songs I have on my storage device into ring tones or ringers. Can someone please tell me step by step how to accomplish this? I riped the songs from a cd into media player. and synced them to my phone. I can play them under media player. But I would like to make them ringtones. and help would be appreciated! thanks!

Put the file(s) you want in your Windows\Rings folder. Go to Start|Settings|Phone and select your sound file. I assume you have these saved as .mp3?

I thought that Windows mobile supports mp3 as a ringtone without third party softwae, but maybe I am mistaken. It should be as easy as dropping the file in the folder I mentioned and then selecting that ringtone.

Here is another option. Go over to SBSH Mobile Software - Innovative applications for a mobile world! and download a demo of PhoneWeaver. I knw that PhoneWeaver (not a free program) will allow for the selection of mp3. If that works, then maybe you do need third part. If it doesn't, then something else is wrong.
