i purchased a used sprint ppc6700 that started with wm5 the owner decided that he would update it with wm6 after he got a new service with another carrier . the phone works in every aspect but don't seem to be able get it activated on the sprint service.
the sprint people checked the dec and hex and sn# everything is fine and it isn't stolen . when we try to program it with the ##6 digit # it is suppose to go to the next screen on its own . it doesn't it just stays on one screen.
does anybody have any experience with this problem?
please help i need to work .
thanks frank
I did the same thing to mine but I updated the rom AFTER i had it activated. not on purpose just kind of worked out that way. It is something to do with the way they cooked the rom. The steps to install mine were install, let it go through the setup, hard reset and then interupt the setup. if that is how yours works try letting it do the initial setup first and see if that will let the ## code work. If not....
Just to give you updaters a heads up. If you update to wm6 and have sprint service consider yourself warned. There are NO fixes that sprint can offer to those who upgrade and technically you just voided the warranty.
The only option that they can give is to replace the phone and for those without insurance that means another few hundred bucks.
If I Were You I Would Flash The Rom Back To Wm5 Activate The Phone Then After It Is Activated Flash Back To Wm6!!! Good Luck....
