New to Pda's and bluetooth | | My first question struck me like a ton of bricks as you will see.
I recieved a hand me down Dell Axim from a co-worker. It is outdated and basically abondoned by the original user. I fished it from a box of nonworking pda's and got it working. I have managed to install things and even bluetoothed it to my pc. My pc is at home and I have my own personal internet provider (Charter pipeline.) I did the bluetooth after noticing that activesync made it possible to connect to the internet with the pda. One key thing to keep in mind is that at least twice I have done the big reset holding the button or buttons plus the hidden one I don't recall what it took for this particular pda. This I believe clears out all data.
Ok, now while surfing the net from my couch via bluetooth it hit me...
Am I access the net through my own pc's internet provider or am I simply allowing this pda access to some other provider via my modem.
As I said I am using activesync but I am not clear on this. Could the pda have something in it from a previous user accessing the net in some way not to my liking. (personal business vs work resources) sort of thing or does activesync simply extend my internet provider to my pda?
Any insight will help for I have none. Thanks. |
