Everytime I plug it back in, it resets to the original start-up(factory i guess) where it makes you run the setup. I am assuming this is a battery problem so I ordered one off of ebay and plan on replacing. Also while ppc is on plugged in, when i check the battery level, the meter is blank not indicating any charge.

Also, when i plug ppc into my laptop through usb, i get system error saying device is not recognized. I am running xp pro with v4.5 of active sync.

So my question is, are both of these problems due to bad batter?
Will replacing the battery also fix the unrecognizable usb device error?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I know this device isnt supported/produced any more but I really want to get it running.

edit: I got the active sync working, so my only problem is getting ipaq to charge/replace battery

Confirmation on my theory would be awesome thanks again
Yes, your problem is a dead battery. It almost completely screws your use of the iPAQ. You know your battery is worthless when the charging light doesn't blink when charging. The zero charge inducator is also a dead giveaway. Replace your battery and all is good.
