Ok I will add to this and please feel free to ask questions here and not PM me as my box fills up quick with questions that can be answered in a forum. Also I encourage you to ask questions here as someone else my have the same questions and someone else might have the answer.
Ok first yes you can easily get WM6 on your Hermes, it is one of the easiest device to install a new rom on thanks to several people, being but not limited to POF, OLIPRO, VP3G and all of the cooks.
Ok first what you need to do is
cid unlock your device, with this program you can also
sim unlock your device it is real easy just a basic install and run. Install this program by POF and follow the unlock directions. Not an actual cab. just an exe. stick this somewhere on your device and select the exe.

Then what you need to install
Olipro v7 2.10 it allows your device to be
hard spl so you can install a new rom without having to worry about bad blocks on the rom. So after
cid unlocking your device install this.

Ok now you are ready to install any rom you would like. Its that easy so now for the rom, this is the offical rom update for the 8525.
