How to encrypt Outlook address book? | | Hi,
I am looking for a software solution that will easily encrypt the address book of my company PDAs (PPC 2003, Mobile 5 and 6). I have looked at what is on offer at Handango and PocketGear, but I found that none of them integrate with the PDA version of Outlook (as far as I know). Most of the encryption software requires the user to move their contacts to a proprietary format (like CodeWallet), making it impossible for the user to sync with their desktop's Outlook. Others will simply offer you to encrypt a file or folder, which is fine for my most IT litterate users but a major obstacle to my average ones. So, in a nutshell, I need
- To keep my ability to sync with Outlook 2003 (Desktop)
- A simple interface that will prompt the user to decrypt his Address Book
- To crypt the Address Book when the user turns his PDA off
- The encryption software to be as fast as possible when crypting/decrypting
My expectations for Windows Devices are based on my experience with the Palm T3 and T5. To encrypt and decrypt user data, it is a walk in the park! In the Encryption option, you check the box named Contacts (or many others) and its done. The user must put his password to decrypt the data on startup and it crypt it back when it powers off.
So if you have any suggestions that would help me secure the Address Book of my user, I would be greateful!
Thanks! |
