First, arranging an 8525 marriage Bluetooth style is more difficult than anything y'all might imagine in Tennessee!
Here's a link to the Bluetooth setup:
http://www.mobilityelectronics.com/h...0Guide-Web.pdf
Without it, I was a couple hours and a few jars of Ol' Loudmouth dead in the water.
Then, sliking beaten to the InfoBahn, I found Page 14 above.
Step by step, the most cogent American English user tech instructions I've ever read. Worked perfectly and the Igo device "runs like a hose."
Got BlueToothaces?
Read from page 14. . .
Or, don't.
I used QuickPoint (comes in the software download) to convert a couple PowerPoints. Flawless.
BUT, get this:
You lose 1) animation, 2) sound
Therefore, think "Slide Show" (annimation is easy given multiple panels, right?).
It is a "Business Presentation," not a multi-media entertainment show. Adjust your thinking. Make YOU, not the media CenterStage, else the BigBucks go elsewher, no?
What happens is, the PowerPoint .ppt is dragged and dropped onto the QuickPoint panel where it is converted and stored by the ActiveSynch connected PPC. I prefer using the Storage Card.
The IGO interface (3 ozs weight, 32meg) is powered, the Bluetooth dongle in place (already "married" to the PPC . . NOT a trivial process first time!) after being connected by the video projector's VGA cable. Could be yours or a MediaCenter's. Resolution can be XGA (1024x768), aspect ration 16:9, 4:3, Native; it all works flawlessly with my Infocus LP70+.
SHAZAM!!
The projector gets driven by the Igo and its logo appears. Amazing how IGO cows one of these recalcitrant, basically evil beasts!
Next, from the PPC, start Quickpoint, select the presentation file, tell Quickpoint to use the Bluetooth connect, then (how easy is this?), select Start.
The PPC begins downloading the presentation whilst you sup a cup of java (or a beer). It takes a minute or two (faster you want? then, connect the PPC to IGO by USB cable).
Voila!
The first slide is onscreen.
The PPC Up/Down toggle advances/reverses slides. I prefer to intall a 2nd USB dongle for my LaserPointer/SelectorVeryCoolDevice which works flawlessly.
What you MUST know:
1) Power PPC externally OR, set it to NOT shut off on battery power. That stops the show.
2) If show stops, just reselect presentation and tap Start, the IGO "knows" not to reload; re-find your place
3) telephone calls, e-mails, text messages, other apps running are NO BOTHER to the IGO presentation.
Exec Summ:
The thing is a High WOW device.
Compared to a PC it is smaller, lighter, way cooler, BUT a TechNovelty, I think. You must build a compelling reason to spend $250. I did.
Will I use it?
Oh, yeah!
Every dang chance I get!!!
Best,
PP
