The problem might be that your phone is set to only connect to the Internet and such using the ISP CSD line or the ISP GPRS line. Goto Settings> Connections> Connections> My ISP> Manage Existing Connections. Make sure your Auto pick feature is selected. If that doesn't fix the problem right away you can delete the default Cingular ISP CSD line number or just fully delete all the default ISP CSD&GPRS by tapping and holding then selecting delete. This should fix your problem considering the device sees the router but does not connect to it and you are no longer using the Cingular ISP CSD&GPRS lines. I don't know if T-Mobile has a ISP CSD or GPRS modem number but that's something you need to find out from them.
