Due to other stability problems with Vista (networking), I've had to retreat back to Windows XP. I can't afford for this particualr box to have issues, so I restored my XP image.
My PDA was attached during several of the Windows updates I performed, and no Mobile computing components were downloaded to my recollection.
As for the Mobile Device Center, the only reference to it that I recall seeing is on Microsoft's website on the download page for Active Sync 4.2. When you click on the link, you get an error 404 (Page not found).
My assessment is that Windows Vista looks like it will be very nice once stablized, but it's still too early to adopt in my opinion because of a lack of driver support for many common peripherals, including hardware driven by Microsoft's own Mobile platform. |
