Hi all;

I'm wondering if anyone of you other Pocket PC owners out there are on the bleeding edge, and have switched your computer(s) to Windows Vista?
I made the switch 2 days ago with Vista code (Ultimate Edition) that appears to be the code base that will soon ship to Microsoft Enterprise customers, and so far I have not discovered a way to sync my iPaq H5555.

When I attach the PDA via USB to my computer, the new Vista Sync center detects the PDA and offers to allow me to sync media and data files, but what about my Outlook data? I also can't seem to set up a partnership with it either, so if I have to hard reset my iPaq for any reason, I can see no way to restore my backup files or to re-install applications etc.

As opposed to a clean install of Vista, I elected to perform an upgrade of my existing desktop. I knew Active Sync wasn't supported, and that the new Sync Center would handle synchronization with mobile devices, which is why I went ahead and performed the upgrade, but I had no idea that my device would be limited to data file transfers and not PIM data. This really sucks.

Has anyone had a similar experience with older PockePC hardware and Windows Vista? If so, did you find any workarounds or solutions?
Does anyone know which Windows Mobile Devices have full sync capabilities when coupled to a Windows Vista PC?

Because we have an Exchange 2003 server managing email and have server based Activesync enabled, I was able to reconfigure the PPC to sync directly with the server, as opposed to my computer, in order to keep my PIM data up to date, but as far as I know, this doesn't address the issue of backing up, restoring backups and application installation operations that need to happen from time to time.

Any relevant feedback from Windows Vista early adopters would be greatly appreciated.
