Ok, good point, the thing is I wanted something fresh. Ie: Linux: Surely I would've been able to read manuals and help files using that os?

I've been downloading and surfing all sorts of apps, wififofum and the like and I'm really impressed with what can be accomplished with the pda.
i suppose the reason why I wantedd to remove the os additions was so that I'd have more space:
Problem:
Its a HP 1930 Ppc.
it has nothing but infrared and I've been wondering If I should either invest in memory card or wificard. the latter being used for surfing naughty pics in coffee shops while i'm supposed to be entertaining clients.... (well not really but you get the idea.)
Anyway. either I use the slot for memory and have naught more that a pda that plays arvale 2 or I get wifi and surf anything anywhere ( yes southafrica is about 6yrs behind but they comming up slowly.)
is there any way I could increase onboard capacity or could both cards be used just by swopping them out while the pda is off?
My other question is this: if I had female to female usb cable would my IPAQ be able to connect via usb to lets say a (no power required) protable laptop harddrive?
It connects via usb to my pc and is my portable storage device for music vids and the like.
would be nice to have a pda with a 20gig hdd attached.
