Currently, on the main unit it shows storage free of 10.49 meg 0f 47.46 available. For the program side, it shows of a total of 44.08 Meg available, 14.12 is free.
Is this nominal for a Cingular 8125 (HTC)? Do I need a larger storage card? And last, how to I transfer programs llike Word over to the storage card since I can't seem to find them with File Explorer?
Looking for advice and help, thanks. |
Hi jerrbitt;
I just want to confirm you used 800meg of your storage card just for applications and games for pocket pc? Thats a lot...

I dont think you need another 1gig of Storage card, what you need is to manage it. You can get the following applications that i also use in checking and managing my memory cards.
1.
Resco Exlorer - Great alternative in built-in File Explorer with lots more to offer like following modules:
The File Manager,
Recycle Bin,
Today Plugin,
Strong File Encryption,
ZIP Compression,
The built-in viewer,
The Network Browser,
The Registry Editor and
The FTP add-in.
2.
Memaid - Now this is a great memory handler.
its a tool that scans and detects all the files and registry entries that consume your memory and removes them leaving your Pocket PC's memory clean like never before. The only tool you will ever need to clean and manage your Pocket PC's memory.
Heres some of the key features that i like:
Move your IE and Avantgo Cache to your SD card, that leaves you more memory on your device.
Clean your devices Temp files, dead Registry, dead shortcuts and a lot more.
There is also the DLL Optimizer, this lets you move DLL files to your storage card which normally resides on the main memory.
3. Card Export II - Softick Card Export II for Pocket PC turns your Pocket PC or Windows Mobile PDA into
USB card reader. This allows to access your files on the storage cards without using Active Sync as if they are on the USB thumb drive. No drivers or additional software required on desktop!
this is very usefull if your transferring a large files on your SD card like movies or mp3, its great because you dont have to remove your card to your device. Just put it in the cradle or USB hotsync and you got yourself a very expensive card reader.
I hope this help.
