Why not use the built-in backup application in your Atom, i believe in O2 they have xBackup. This apps let you backup in Storage card and you can choose between "All Data" or "Contacts and Appointments only".
Better yet you can get an 3rd party backup application like
Sprite Backup or the new
SPB Backup.
Personally i prefer the first one.
