Do i really need a VGA PPC? or IPAQ 5555 vs. X50v | | Hi all.
I have been using my IPAQ 5555 for over a year now. Today i got a brand new Dell X50v in the mail and I am playing with it now. A few thoughts I am having so far:
1. My old softs look crappy on it. Among them are: TomTom Navigator(#1) Pocket Informant 4 (#2), WebIS mail, Resco Picture viewer and File explorer, numerous games, Pocket TV and AOL IM, Omega Battery and Wisbar Advance plug-ins.
2. My g-f has the Axim x30, i installed some of the above apps for her and the thing kept crashing... soft reset after soft reset. Mostly in Pocket TV. Wonder if the X50v will be so unstable. Ipaq 5555 doesnt freeze nearly as much as the the x30 did.
3. My final thought is should I keep it or stay with the IPAQ. There are too few apps that take advantage of the VGA screen right now. Yes it looks MUCH cleaner and sharper, and costs less then the 5555 cost me, but... even if i sell the IPAQ for $350 (ebay rates) i will still have to shell out another $100 for the Dell... is it really worth it? I could try to sweeten the deal by throwing in a 256 MB card with all the softs installed, but i doubt the noobs on ebay will appreciate the value of combined softwares (tomtom alone is $200?).
