I've read all sorts of stuff about the Sandisk cards being unreliable and slow. I've actually had a sandisk SD floating around between my Pocket PCs for over a year with no ill effects. Was it slow? maybe..I never noticed the slowness except when trying to preview some of those divx movies using pocket mvp. There were dropped frames, etc.
Yesterday, though, we were messing with Pocket Mechanic benchmarking some of those 512MB SD cards bought from Sears for $99....They were benchmarking 7 times slower than Lexar cards...
The problem is, they don't seem all that slow - using a card reader, they seem just as fast as any other card, copying the same file to and from produces the same results within a second or two. So I am having a hard time believing they are a full 7 times slower. So I am wondering if there might be something else strange going on. :? |
